Matt & Meredith Boyd
Meredith Boyd’s journey with arthritis began at the age of 15 years old when she was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA). After surgeries on her knee and foot, repeated rounds of PRP injections in her elbow and now steroid injections in her back, she is also in physical therapy to manage the pain of arthritis. She started volunteering with the Arthritis Foundation while in college and has emceed numerous luncheons, walks, and events for the foundation since 1997.
Meredith leads a demanding career as a commercial makeup artist for television for A&E Network and CBS News and works with iconic media personalities and celebrities nationwide and founded of her own makeup line in 1999, Meredith Boyd Cosmetics. She was also crowned Mrs. Georgia in 2008. Meredith was the Walk to Cure Arthritis Adult Honoree in 2019. Meredith graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts and Broadcast Journalism.
Matt Boyd is an international award winning photographer specializing in headshots, actor, model portfolios and weddings and have been married 21 years. He also attended Georgia Southern University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a degree in Photography from the Art Institute of Atlanta. They are a husband and wife duo and love working, traveling and photographing clients across the nation together. Matt is Meredith’s #1 supporter. You will find Matt and Meredith at the annual Walk to Cure Arthritis and at Arthritis Foundation events throughout the year. They are dedicated advocates and warriors in this cause together fighting for a cure.
Stacy Courtnay was diagnosed nearly 20 years ago with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After a long journey to find the right treatment, she finally found her "miracle drug" and has been thriving for the last 10 years. Once she got her quality of life back, she decided to pour her heart into the Arthritis Foundation to support and give hope to other sufferers, elevate the patient voice, and help with science and research to find a cure.
Stacy is now heavily involved on both the local and national level. She is on the Georgia Leadership Board and will become Board Chair in 2022. She is currently the Community Network Chair, a member of the Patient Leadership Council, and involved in several patient engagement projects.
Stacy has been married to her husband, Taylor, for 18 years. Taylor is an entrepreneur in the information technology and professional services industry. He has been by Stacy’s side through the trials and tribulations of her diagnosis and journey to manage a chronic illness. Together they have one 14 year old son, John. You will often find them down in the Keys, as they love being on the water and fishing!
