Meet our Honorees
The Arthritis Foundation is honored to announce Dr. A.B. Naylor II as the 21st Annual Food & Foam Fest Medical Honoree. As a pediatric optometrist, a long time volunteer of the foundation, and a craft beer enthusiast, A.B. is the perfect fit to be our Medical Honoree.
Born and raised in Helena, Naylor graduated with honors from Phillips Community College in 1990. While at PCCUA, he was active in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and Helena Little Theatre. After attending the University of Central Arkansas, he entered the Southern College of Optometry and earned a Doctorate of Optometry in 1996.
Dr. Naylor has been a pediatric optometrist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) since 1997 and treats the eye disease associated with juvenile arthritis that can cause serious complications and even blindness. He has been a guest lecturer at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in the COMT program and also an annual guest lecturer for ACH’s medical terminology class. He has also served as an adult advisor on the North Arkansas Conference Council on Youth Ministries for the United Methodist Church.
In his spare time, Dr. Naylor enjoys fly-fishing, cycling, volunteering, and cooking.
